...atrial fibrillation or any other heart arrythmias? I have been a-fib prone since birth, and I can't handle any caffeine. I just got off a bad 2 day long episode a hour ago, so I am quite releived. Sometimes if I go into it I can snap out of it in 5-10 minutes usually...I hate the ones that last days.

Luckily I can still function without having to go see a doctor, unlike some people. It just feels like crap. I've been cardio-verted successfully once, unsuccessfully twice, but I somehow can always do it chemically with medication.

So, anyone else here? I'd love to talk to someone who can relate to this...

I don't know if it'* the same thing, but years ago i use to suffer from a rapid heartbeat. I once went 3 days with it and i was so tired. It'* like running a marathon non stop. Finally went to the hospital and they hit me with some adreneline to speed it up a bit more then it dropped to normal in about 5 to 10 mins. Smoking and caffeine bring it on and i've since quit smoking and think i just grew out of it.
Hope you can get over this soon captain.... :(

That is called a SVT. I was hit with the adenosine shot once to try it, but unfortunatly it doesn't work for a-fib. Pretty awful feeling when you get a shot of that stuff eh?

I used to be uncontrolled, meaning when I went into I was on the brink of passing out because I was freaking out. HR in the 140'*...I got tired so fast and my limbs would go numb. Now that I don't freak out about I can operate perfectly fine with a normal heart rate...just an abnormal rhythm. Sooo uncomfortable...

At any rate I'm still in sinus rhythm (thats good). Hopefully it lasts for a few months at least.

wow. that really is horrible. I feel for ya man! I have a sensitivity to caffein but it'* nothing like you have. If I have something with high caffein (brownies, coke, etc) my heart will race and I will feel really weak. I try to not have much caffein just for that reason.

Hans, not to dig into your personal life, but how active are you? A high heart rate when you are resting and relaxed shouldn't be that high at all. In fact, a healthy individual that stays pretty active should have a much lower heart rate. The average person has a resting heart rate between 70 and 80 BPM. Mine right now is 62 BPM. Might want to ask a doctor about it..
