Default Article on the GXP Venom

Well I decided to write a third person article for a Domestic driver article and struggling a bit (perfectionist) and want soem input as to how I'm doing so far.... be critical please and help get the Venom and Club into the feature article please. How am I doing so far? Corrections or things overlooked greatly appreciated. Lets just stick with the context so far written and I will add as I go along cause I'm not sure of my writing skills And I have no spellcheck
************************************************** ********************************************

John Frederick of Laurel Lake , PA has owned this '05 Pontiac Bonneville GXP since it was new. He found and fell in love with it on the Dealer Showroom floor in Jan. of this year. He took his near new '05 Buick LaCrosse in for service and while killing time "browsing" found it center stage with a deeply discounted sticker. He got a pretty good trade in on his 7 month old Buick, drove the GXP home that night and never looked back.

The Pontiac Bonneville had a 47 year production run from 1957 to 2005 and the GXP level was a limited run in "04 and '05. (Numbers still unavailable). it came stock with the only Cadillac Northstar ever put in a Pontiac. It is powered by a 4.6L V8 275 Hp LD8 found in the Caddy Deville, DTS, and CTS. It has some great features such as individual coil on plugs, double overhead cams ( 32 Valves), variable ignition timing, all aliuminum block and heads, antiknock sensors that trigger timing changes. The motor needs little in maintenance and even the platinum plugs are rated and proven to last 90,000+ miles. The engine also has performance tuned intake, exhaust heads, cat, and pipes which lend to it'* throaty exhast note that gets it noticed as it roars by.The engine is coupled to a 4T80E 4 speed automatic, one of the heaviest and toughest ever offered by GM. All are controlled by one of the most advanced PCM'* ever made.

Driving this agile car is simply put fun and refreshing. Unlike Bonneville models of the same year it has it'* own suspension package modeled after a LeMans racer. More than 1,000 hours were spent modeling, testing and refining the balance of the components to create a superior ride with a true performance feel. Structural rigidity was increased through the use of a tower-to-tower brace and a specially dampened engine cradle mounting package. Performance-tuned DeCarbon monotube dampeners, progressive spring rates and large diameter (30-mm front, 22-mm rear) stabilizer bars allow the Bonneville GXP to provide both excellent driver feedback and a smooth, compliant ride. Putting all this together with torque steering, torque mamagement, and Pontiac'* well known StabilTrack ride system has come up with a very unique exilirating ride.

here'* after some proof-reading and some editing. Hopefully this works for you.

John Frederick of Laurel Lake , Pennsylvania, has owned his 2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP since it was new. He found, and fell in love, with it on the Dealer Showroom floor in January of this year. He took his near new 2005 Buick LaCrosse in for service and while killing time "browsing," found the GXP sitting center stage with a deeply discounted sticker. He got a decent trade-in on his seven-month-old Buick, drove the GXP home that night, and never looked back.

The Pontiac Bonneville had a 47-year production run from 1957 to 2005. The GXP trim level was a limited run in 2004 and 2005; Official production numbers are unavailable. The GXP came standard with the technologically advanced Cadillac Northstar engine, making it the only Pontiac ever equipped with a Northstar. The power plant is a 4.6L V8 featuring a robust 275 Hp, LD8 engine, found in other vehicles such as the Caddillac Deville, DTS, and CTS. It has some great features such as individual coil on plugs, double overhead cams utilizing 32 valves, variable ignition timing, an all-aluminum block and heads, and finally, antiknock sensors that trigger timing changes. The engine requires little in maintenance costs and even the platinum plugs are rated and proven to last upwards of 90,000 miles. The engine also has a performance-tuned intake, exhaust heads, catalytic converter, and exhaust pipes which contribute to its throaty exhaust note which gets peoples’ attention as it roars by. The engine is coupled to a Cadillac 4T80-E four speed automatic, one of the heaviest and toughest ever offered by GM. All are controlled by one of the most advanced power control modules ever made.

Driving this agile car is best described as being “fun and refreshing.” Unlike Bonneville models of the same year equipped with other trim levels, it has its own suspension package modeled after a LeMans racer. Putting all the GXP’* advanced options together such as torque management, and Pontiac'* well-known StabilTrack anti-skid system has made for an unique, exhilarating ride that will make you think you’re driving something much more expensive.

The interior of the GXP is richly appointed almost entirely in leather with many carbon fiberlike appointments. The seats are all leather with suede inserts, 12 way electric adjustable and heated. All adjustments, including seats, climate control, and radio presets are in memory and distinguished by which key is put in the ignition. The dash and controls are at first glance overpowering and almost intimidating, all back lit in the Pontiac Signature Red. John feels it resembles a jet fighter more than an automobile. It comes with a Monsoon 8 speaker sound system that features AM/FM/XM, CD, Cassette, and the OnStar System and Carphone are all integrated into the radio. All of which can be adjusted by controls in the steering wheel. Also advanced engine diagnostics can be run by the PCM and sent to your email via OnStar. The heating / cooloing system is dual zone and has rear vents as well as heated side mirrors. It also features a Heads Up Display that projects speed, turn signals, headlight selection, and radio functions onto the windshield making for safer more efficent driving. The rear seating is quite comfortable as well with a flip down center console with cupholders and a 12V receptacle. And a trunk acess door is provided behind the console.

Almost. Take the interrupter out and you will see the problem. "He found with it on the Dealer Showroom floor in Janurary this year." The interrupter won't work in this case, there is no way to make it correct (I don't think).

John Frederick of Laurel Lake , Pennsylvania, has owned his 2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP since it was new. When he took his near new 2005 Buick LaCrosse in Janurary for service, he killed time "browsing" the car lot: this is when Frederick found the GXP sitting center stage with a deeply discounted sticker. Frederick knew it was a deal he could not pass up, and he fell in love. He got a decent trade-in on his seven-month-old Buick, drove the GXP home that night, and never looked back.

"When he took his near new 2005 Buick LaCrosse in for service and while killing time "browsing," "

This had to be changed around, didn't sound right to me I think it is an issue with tense. "Took" is past tense and .... I guess it is killing that makes it sound present....I'm probably wrong, its just a tad ackward.

Hopefully that is something you can work with. You probably now see the problem with writing: you ask ten different people for opinions, and you get ten different opinions back.

Looks good

Looks good but I don't think the CTS got the 4.6 Northstar, if I recall correctly, the CTS-V was the only one to get a V8 and it was a LS2.

Oh and the "carbon fiber like" Doesn't it should be "carbon fiber-like"?
