Default Not sure where to post... but...2000 Impala Question

My cousin has a 2000 Impala and the CV Axles need to be replaced. It has a 3.4, if that helps. Umm..... I need to know if anyone has done these and if its a one day job. I Havnt done cv axles before, so anything would help. Dissambly, any specific things i should look out for, anything....

Thanks guys.

Basic CV axle change is straight forward.

Jack up
Remove tire and axle nut
Push axle in slightly to break it free from spindle (one whack is usually sufficient)
Remove ball joint nut cotter pin
Remove ball joint nut
Split ball joint from spindle
Remove axle when moving strut
As straight as possible, first push axle in then give a quick tug to come ouf of transmission. Don't apply steady force. You are trying to compress a ring clip that holds the axle in.. they should pop right out.
Install new axle and reassemble.
