More than 50 purple martins plunged to the pavement
but why will it take them a few weeks to figure out what killed the birds?

i was thinking the same thing.. ( wheres the concern for the people).?
i said they probally all feasted off a dead animal that got them sick.. but for them all to die and fall at the same time in the same place makes no sence what so ever..

I would think that it had been a REALLY slow news day, and the media has nothing better to sell papers with than another round of "Bird Flu" fear-mongering.
Somebody left something bad outside, the brids got into it, and it killed them. Could be deadly toxic pesticide, but it could just as likely be moldy or bad birdseed.
Now if it was OSTRICHS falling from the sky, well that would tend to get my attention.
