thank god for cat doors
so i accidentally lock my keys in my room, i didnt have the spare key on me, my keys were in my other pants, i cudnt reach em thru the cat door, i goto the garage and fashion and hook tool out of a priner and a coathanger, after about 10 minutes i manage to pull the pants over to the cat door, ****, the keys arent in there, they must be on my bed, which i cant reach, so i had to try to unlock the door through the cat door with whatever i had on hand, one thing led to another and after about 8 inventions, and 2 hours, i finally made a device that opened the door, it took the hinged leg and foot from my estes rocket launch pad, and an arror with a screwoff head, i unscrewed the head a little to give it a notch, i attached the foot to the arrow head with twisty ties so when i held the leg and the arrow and moved the arrow, the foot rotates, i then too a big wad of sticky tack, and pressed in the butt of a knife that was about the size of the lock **** then i smooshed it tight ontp the foot so when the foot rotated the 'mold' i made for the lock rotated too, with the assistance of a video camera since this was out of my line of vision i got the mold onto the ****, pulled the arrow, saw the rotation on my screen and heard the sure click of the lock unlocking, without that cat door i wudve had to destroy the lock to get in. people always say im resourseful, damn straight i am, but needless to say i now put my spare key somewher ei can it if i forget my key, so how would you all have dealt with this situation? call a locksmith and waste money? drill the lock and need to buy a new doorknob?

Sorry I have no idea what you just built looks like, its too much thinking and I'll have to try and draw it just to get an image. Good job on the 8 inventions though.

Damn, that'* some crazy ****..
I'd pick it myself. Small screwdriver and a small allen wrench or paper clip [if nothing else around]. But, you need practice with a real kit first.. just don't try that on your car.

Nice job on the inventions and getting in the house without breaking anything. I don't think I'd be that inventive is such a situation occured. The only time I got locked out, I managed to stack enough furniture on top of eachother to get on the roof and into my bedroom window... That'* the extent of it for me.
And from the sounds of it, this is the door to your bedroom, correct? and not your house?
