I'm also an audio video phile......have been for 30 years now.

I still have my original Dual turntable and all my old record albums.
I'm a 60'*, 70'* and 80'* freak.

I have a 36" Wega XBR...it'* 4 years old now. A new 42" would be nice.
A Pioneer 110 x 5 surround THX Elite receiver with KEF 3way speakers front, KEP 101 rear and Definitive 2002 center with Definitve 18" 500 watt subwoofer. The Pioneer DVD player I have is an older one that I paid $1200 for.

I started a collection of DVD'* a few years ago but find it better now to simply rent them.
.....I just had to buy the Matrix trilogy though. :P

Have to say that I prefer tube TV'* over the larger screens. Better pic IMO.
Besides, I don't have a huge living room.

audio gets to the point were you have to spend alot to get alittle more. the speakers are really nice, and i was suprised how much i like them more than the more expensive jbl'* i had. for the reciever, i wanted the 5790 (also called the rxv-1400) but we no longer get discounts on it, so it was 300 for the 5760, or 800 for the 5790. when we did get a disount it was 500

the sub is insanely loud, sound and vision tested them to put out 112db at 62hz, but from 32-62 it put out 109db all the way

For now, the tv is perfect. i like were DLP'* are going, but they've got a long ways to go, in a few years they'll be a much better product, and ill have the money lol. not a big fan of LCD'*, get motion blurred. if i had to pick, i like HD CRT tubes for up to 34" (sony'* superfine pitch is amazing). Panasonic makes some awesome plasma'*, only ones id get. rear projo crt'* are the way to go for big, but not the stuff we sell at best buy

Don't you just love subs.
When I first got mine, the neighbours a block away complained.
Who needs a vibrating massage chair when you have a good sub.
