the other thing i spend all my money on...

i get addicted to stuff to easy....

the system

43" sony tv
Yamaha htr-5760
toshiba sd-2800
toshiba w522 vcr
Ps2
Athena AS-F2 towers (fronts)
Athena AS-C1 (center)
Athena AS-F2 towers (side surrounds)
Athena AS-B1 bookshelves (rear surrounds)
JBL Studio series 120PII 12" subwoofer (400rms/500peak)
Monster powerbar 1100 surge/conditioner
all top notch monster wiring, not a huge believer in monster cables, but when you get 60% off, might as well get the best.

sorry its so dirty, been to busy fixing my car

ive got those towers as surrounds too, and small bookshelves as rears. it gets so insanely loud when i dont even turn it up its crazy. i went with towers on the sides too because it has a option were i can listen to stereo music through all 7.1 speakers, my last reciever couldn't.

i know its beyond overkill for a bedroom, but your only 20 once, right? ill be moving out next year when im done with college too, its definatly a basement party system lol

i want to replace the dvd with a sony 400 disc, but ive got to much stuff to buy for the car

Hrm, it's all from best buy huh. that employee discount is nice

I prefer smaller brands...
Denon DRA-375 RD reciever (worth 300 paid 100) friend
Sony CDX 400 (400 cd changer) (worth 300 paid 100) friend
PS2
Monster Z series speaker cable (worth 100, paid 25, i'd prefer another brand) still same friend
B&W 602 s3 speakers, with matching Sanus Faber stands.. ($600 + 80) Sound Center (out of business :( )
JBL PB10 (worth 300 paid 170) BB employee at the time...
Built my stand, and I bought my 19" tv @ audio king. it's picture is great, not like our 36" wega though... But that's downstairs.

I've heard good stuff about athena, but going to best buy isn't a good decisino for them... That'll take you into Mid Fi like that.

Anyone else a audio/videophile?

Good grief. Just wait until you have kids... you learn to forget about all those electronic toys real fast. Then you are always tripping over the actual toys, the kind made by Fisher Price.

In my opinion, athena's are the only stuff worth getting at bestbuy, im not a fan of any of there other stuff, expecially the overhyped klipsch, and for what they carry, yamaha is the only way to go for recievers

thats the reason i still work there,

reciever was 500, got it for 300
towers are $300 a piece, got them for 140
center was 180, got it for 90
bookshelves, 180 got it for 90
subwoofer was 800, got it for 320
all my monster stuff was 60% off

Damn right! My daddio is up there somewhere smiling....took many many years for Yamaha to establish themselves as one of the best!"

All of our components are Yamaha.

I an envious of that entertaiment centre !!

I am an audiophile as well but I am into the vintage stuff. My best is the notorious Marantz 2325 receiver (manufactured 1974-1976). I also have a little Sansui 800 receiver (1968-1970) and a Pioneer Tube Receiver (60s). All of them still work. Sure they all have their flaws but they are a testament to a time when stuff was built right and like a tank.

Yamaha is good for the mass market, but for anything higher up you gotta get more ;)
