SSE14U24ME 09-06-2006 02:32 PM

I started out with 2 older brothers, one died in 1994 so it is just me and one brother. They were much older than I am so I was raised like an only child and am still spoiled rotten ;) My brothers use to get so mad that my dad would spoil me that they would beg my mom for her to let them hit me just once. They use to pick on me relentlessly when no one was around so I had to learn how to fight back at a young age. As I got older they knew I was a force to be reckoned with.

SSsuperchargedEi 09-06-2006 02:38 PM

yes and spoiled

LittleHoov 09-06-2006 02:39 PM

I was an only child for ten years....TEN YEARS!!!!...then they had the evil one.....jk I love my little sister to death, but she is a pain sometimes.

I like having a little sister, gives me someone to pick on, someone besides my parents to talk too and stuff, and all those things a little sister can give.

im 19 and shes currently 8....its a pretty awkward gap right now, but I think we will get closer as she gets older.

1993 SLE 09-06-2006 02:40 PM

yes and spoiled as heck....

Princess Jeanie 09-06-2006 02:41 PM

You all know I've got a sibling. And I'm really, really happy I do since he's like the best ever!

Yep, I can see how she has worldly wisdom to share with you  j/k I'm glad you have someone to talk to. My brothers were so much older than me that I use to ask my parents to have another kid or at least adopt one.

Haha, well we dont talk ALL that much, but sometimes one of us will be in a talking mood, and we just talk about stuff that....well stuff that an 8 and 19 yr old would be able to have in common...the dog, playing outside, things of that nature...

Im hoping when she gets older and starts becoming a little adult that we will get a little closer.

dbeast420 09-06-2006 02:51 PM

To answer the posts of younger or older siblings.

I guess my Mom and Dad quit when they finally got it right :D

There's Step Brother.. he's a challenge to be around most days..getting better though 8 years younger

Then... there's the pain in the families butt.. LisSis.. she's 13 younger than me...we get along the best of any two siblings. Of course..she usually needs help with something

Now that Dad and StepMomster are getting older..they seem like childern...do they count too?

Only child here, but no way spoiled. My family is Dutch, so enough said. Though they did give me the best Christmas gift ever a couple years ago--they forgave my remaining college debt after paying a few grand over 6-7 years. I probably had $15K owed to them yet.

J/K ;)

Third child of four. My younger brother was the spoiled one and I used to resent that when I was younger. Now we are the closest.

oldest out of 2 here but as for the spoiled thing I think all depends and well i knew this kid in high school and he was the only kid and he is the town drunk now but on the other hand my cousin is an only child and well she is doing great so it kinda evens out. I am glad I am not an only child though. no one to teach things about cars to

PontiacMom 09-06-2006 08:03 PM

I don't have to be an only child......I am a daddy's girl, I have my father wrapped around my finger. There is just my brother and I, and my kids are the only grandkids, so they get spoiled.

My dad won the house and he didn't have to, but as of 3 weeks ago, we are completely debt free, except for our house ;)

its840 09-06-2006 08:11 PM

He's an only child but that will change in 6 more months I'm told. Time to spoil another one 8)

I think it's a little different when there are a son and daughter. I bet you're the younger of the two?

fantastic88 09-06-2006 08:36 PM

I am 100% an only child. Because of it I am an introvert and proud of it. I am not really social and actually enjoy being left alone. Not that I don't enjoy talikng to people, I just value alone time more than most. I'm glad I am a only child, that means I get to inherit all my parents debt. :bwoohoo:

singscountry1967 09-07-2006 01:53 PM

One younger brother - 8 yrs younger, so basically was raised as an only child. He was 11 when I got married. We are not very close to this day...that part sucks. That's why I had my all 4 of my kids within 8 years of each other.

That sounds lkike the situation with my older brother.
He lives about 10 min away and I haven't talked to him but maybe three or four times in the last 2 or 3 years.

Not even so much as a call on birthdays but at least my oldest brother still calls me occasionally :)

Yeah, that's a bit spoiled I guess, but otherwise I was in no way spoiled as I grew up. Heck, I had to wear Toughskins until I was in high school and started complaining about needing some decent clothes to wear. :D

Actually I am the oldest, and the most spoiled. It was not that way when I was growing up mind you, my brother and I were spoiled equally, now because I have children and I think I that when I was first married, I relied on my dad a lot for jobs around our house because PDad was working so much, that now my father likes to feel he is still needed.

But overall, it is PJess who is BY FAR the most spoiled, she gets whatever she wants from my parents, recently my father was going to see the house he won and just decided the night before he was supposed to go, he wanted Jessica to go with my mom and him, so he got her a plane ticket. They have taken her on vacations with them, and I think that is a wonderful thing, Andrew has his other grandparents to spoil him ;)
