One year since the "lights went out"

Absolutely!
The Great Blackout of 2003, happened on August 14th. A power surge at an Ohio power plant forced a cascade shutdown of the power grid along the eastern seaboard. It was an interesting night, no lights, no electrical humming, and stars...wow, the night sky was a lot different without that city "glow" |
Go Ohio!!! WOOT! It's funny because eveyone first blamed Canada about the whole blackout...

There was alot of activity here that night, just talking about it and figuring out who it affected.

it sucked for me because I was at work in a restaurant and the power shut off and we had to hurry and take care of all the food, seal the walk-in-cooler, etc. Oh, and the alarm started going off and couldn't be shut off because of a malfunction. :( Great fun.. riiight. lol.

Its a shame that we need a blackout to find that "quality" time :?
I say once a year, we just shut er down for a night....heh, never gonna happen so I'll just wait for the next blackout. |
last year was the first time a city slicker like me saw the milky way.
