Usually I never pump a full tank for some dumb reason. I believe that i dont drive as hard when i have a quarter tank of gas and i actually saved money on gas that way. but when i do fill up, usually on road trips. I will put as much as i can.

i used to top it off, when i had the green bonneville.
now i dont. my theory is that if i go until the machine stops every time, it gets roughly the same amount of gas each time. if fuel economy drops, its just another indicator for me. |

when gas prices were cheaper I would fill it up as far as it could go, but now that gas prices are high, as soon as that pump stops my wallet closes
Thanks to BC, I also no longer waste money on "Gas Saving" fuel additives even if it's from a name brand like STP. |
Rounded up to the nearest dollar after the click.

I top off, turn the nozzle and hose upside down and get the last few drops in the tank.

I don't turn the nozzle upside down though :littlelol: |
I fill up til it pops, give it another squeeze til it pops the secondd time, and then stop. Ionly do that to make sure it's completely full.
On the truck, though, you fill the tanks directly, no filler neck, so I take until the air being forced out of the cap starts to spray drops of diesel out of the filler, then stop. |
Now that you guys are talking about it, I realize that as long as I've had my car, I've never had enough money to top off my tank :? .
