Thoughts on 88 K5 Blazer
One of the instructor pilots at work is selling his K5. He bought it in Arizona (so it is rust free) and has kept a record of everything he has done since he bought it...right down to logging the fillups and calculated mpg! It'* got the 350TBI, it'* 4wd, and I believe it to be the pop-top. On the outside, it isn't in bad shape at all...only thing it needs is a paint job. Mileage is 130k. And the trans has just been rebuilt.
For his coworkers (incl. me), he is only wanting 2000.00. Since I am buying a house, a truck would be a nice thing to have, and I am seriously talking Karen into selling the Neon (in fact, it is on Craigslist right now...but I have been lowballed heavilly on it). Any thoughts on what to look for in this truck? For 2k, I think it'* a steal.

I just bought an '89 yesterday. Since it'* an Arizona truck, I'm sure there'* very little to no rust. I'd pay a lot more than $2000 for a rustless one up here. But that'* because rustless ones are so rare up here in SD. lol
Things to check would be to make sure 4x4 works. Check for oil leaks. Watch for burning oil. Look at the oil on the dipstick, see how dark it is, and find out how old it is. If it has power accessories, make sure they work. Big one is make sure the rear window goes up and down easily. Make sure the rear isn't sagging.
I can't think of any others that are standing out for me right now. But for $2k, you really can't go wrong...

Pricing is a bit high for a nearly 20 year old blazer with faded out paint. Personally, you can do better than that...truck is worth about half of what he'* asking.
