Default HURRY! MOAB IN DANGER!

Between 3300 and 3900 miles of trails in Moab to be closed!

COMMENTS ARE DUE BY NOV 30TH, PLEASE REACT NOW!

http://www.rockymountainextreme.com/...d.php?p=464348

This is only a sign of things to come. It'* time to fight for our land or we'll eventually lose it all. We need a strong showing from the 4x4 community.

The greenies are already boasting that we won't even come close to matching the # of comments they'll submit and I believe it. The good thing is most of these people have never been to Moab, so their comments lack sentiment. These people are trying to close lands they've likely never even seen before!

Please read through the link above and submit a brief, factual, and most importantly a unique letter with your personal feelings BEFORE NOV 30TH (FRIDAY)!!!

if the link does not work

Alright boys and girls. This is it! The final push. Anyone and everyone needs to put a short letter together TODAY!!!!! Even if you never do anything else about land use do this one thing, please, please, please.

The new Moab Resource Management Plan will be finalized by next summer. Depending on how things go, somewhere between 3300 and 3900 miles of EXISTING, DOCUMENTED routes WILL be closed. Keep it closer to 3300 by spending a few minutes reading this post.

The public comment period is open until Friday November 30th!

Your comments will determine how many miles and trails are lost.

Here is a ton of information from Utah 4 Wheel Drive Association, Red Rock 4 Wheelers, Moab Friends-For-Wheelin', and Blueribbon Coalition:

http://www.u4wda.org/documents/U4WDA...nformation.pdf

Please, please, please, take a few minutes to download this document and read it before submitting your comments. We need substantive comments.

Page 7 lists the most important 4x4 specific issues.

Page 15 lists an awesome sample comment letter by BRC.

Page 18 is the official comment letter from Utah 4 Wheel Drive Association.

Page 3 has the address/email for submitting comments

We also have some sweet map comparisons here:

http://www.u4wda.org/moab

A high-up anti-OHV rep boasted that we wouldn't even come close to matching the number of comments they will submit. They are counting on the apathy of 4x4 users to institute these closures in Moab. Don't let them win!

Spend 10 minutes to help save a trail!

FAQ:

Q: Why don't you just list the email address to submit comments?
A: Comments need to be substantive! Simple comments like, "please keep the roads open" or "I support OHV recreation" are worthless and will be discarded. Take a few minutes to read through the information provided, and submit your own comments.

Q: Why don't we use an automated "letter writer" online to submit comments?
A: Automatically generated comments are worthless! These comments are counted as ONE comment even if 10,000 people send in the email. The comments need to be personal, unique, and informed.

Q: Isn't this a little late notice?
A: Information about the RMP has been available for months all over the Internet, in publications, and on numerous online forums. But it'* not too late! Submit your comments today!

Your links are broken, just so you know. At first I thought MOAB stood for "Mother of All Bombs." Anyways, I can't say I'm too saddened that some more land is being saved from getting torn up by off roaders.

I also thought it was for the GBU-43/B MOAB as well.
I involuntarily clicked the link when i thought of
8 TONS worth of explosives with a guidance system

Back on topic, I'm sad to see that more land will be "taken away"
from everyday people who actually GO OUTSIDE. I figured the
last thing anyone would want is an other reason to keep people
inside in front of a screen. Heck the only reason i don't have a
wrangler along side the bonnie is because i live in CT. You can't
let your tires touch dirt because land is either owned by someone
else or it'* protected by the state. Just further verification that you
can't have fun in CT unless it'* illegal I never get to have any fun
except the bonnie, she'* fun, but i generally drive 65mph or slower.
And what little fun i do have is becoming VERY expensive.
An average of 15-18 mpg, Just doesn't cut it. It'* time to look for
a VW TDI that i have always wanted....

See this is the point in your life where you need to make choices...

Offroading or The Future of our COUNTRY.

I say start a petition,

A petition to get Bush assassinated by a mod of angry Moms or Wives with month old french bread.

It sucks that the Man is trying to take away Offroading but honestly do you think they will succeed?

Buck Fush.

It'* a shame that the only alternative to off roading in Moab is sitting in front of the TV or computer. There are other places, still. Obviously, I think there should be areas for people to offroad, but not anywhere they want. And some places should be protected, because we shouldn't shred up and ruin an environment because we want to have fun and get a rush.
