People are nuts....
I just got back from my local Staples, they had a 19" LCD monitor on sale for 199.00 (after rebate). My wife who is a shopping expert told me that they were opening at 6 am but to be there a few minutes early. My wife and her sister were already out of the house by 5 am so about 10 minutes of 6 I headed down, I go there just after the doors opened and the place was mobbed..... it was crazy and it'* only Staples.
People who go to these place at 6 am in the morning in these crowds are nuts..... wait, I guess that would be me...... doh.

6 AM here. Just dropped The Missus off at work (she works in the Mall). Parking lot was already a mess, and people were lined up waiting for the doors to open.

I tried that whole "shopping the day after Thanksgiving" thing and swore I'd never do it again!!! In fact, from now until after Christmas I won't go near the SuperWalmart here in town. I will go to a grocery store somewhere else in town. I don't like the crowds cuz like you said- They are [/b]NUTS!!!
My son had to be at Walgreens by 6:45 am. Poor kid, I hope he makes it out alive!! I feel sorry for ANYONE who has to work retail today (especially) and through to the day after Christmas.

The thing about going to the "early morning sales" is that I think they mark up retail and then take so much money off to make it look like a "deal"!!! No thanks, I'd rather wait or go about 2 months ago.

Though I think that under $400 for a late-model laptop is a pretty good deal! Wal Mart and one of the electronic chain stores (circuit city, best buy, or the like) was carrying laptops for that price.
