Default odd vehicle legal question

i've been mulling over some suggestions made by a drag racer buddy of mine. he thinks i should convert my van to RWD and mount a v-8 in it. i'd love to, but i'm not cutting up my van. right now it'* my only transportation and it runs.

so i began thinking about building a full drag RWD v-8 dustbuster. a little more research led me to beleive that throwing the frame of an astro van in there would pretty much be perfect, being only a 1.2 inch longer wheelbase and already having provisions for a chevy v-8.

but heres the question. i would of course need a complete astro frame/suspension, and a complete van body. would i need to register it as a U-body van since thats the body, or as an astro van since thats what it really is underneath?

I could be wrong, but it may get registered as a "build up." Sorta like a kit car...maybe?

kit car would be even better, since i wouldn't need any title at all from the donor vehicles...

in indiana you would register it with whatever the vin/title says it is.. if the body is a pontiac TS then you register it as that.. this is kinda like saying ''my nova has a complete custom tube chassis'' do i register it as a tube chassis or a nova? Well the title says nova.. so..its a nova..am i right? In the same sense.. if you take a v6 car and put a v8 in it.. you generally dont have any problems.. no need to tell anyone..unless you have emissions b/* then i'm sure there would be some stuff you'd have to do.. but around here we don't have emissions testing n that good stuff.

well yes i understand that you have to register it as whatever the title says, the problem here is not a motor swap of a tube chassis, but actually combining two seperate vehicle that each have their own titles. which title take presidence. the body or the frame?

My understanding (at least in OR) is that the Frame detemines the title.
