Default Antarctica Wave (17 - 640x480 pics)

I got this in an email. Think it could really be real?

The water froze the instant the wave broke through the ice. That'* what it'* like in Antarctica. Water freezes the instant it comes in contact with the air. The temperature of the water is already many degrees below freezing. Just look at how the wave froze in midair!

I don't think that can be possible. There is far to much energy in that amount of water to flash freeze like that, even in the cold Antarctic air.

Cant say I lived in Antartica but have been around very cold temps from time to time
No way any wave is going to freeze like that, actually any moving water wont freeze and is a way of keeping your pipes from doing so.

Cool pics though

The temperature of the water is already many degrees below freezing.
then wouldnt it be frozen already? :?

definitely bs, how could does it have to be for water to freeze on contact?

wouldnt the salt in the water lower the freezing point so that it could be below 32F?

it should be noted that the temperature of water CAN be below "freezing", depending on what is added to the water. most high schools make ice cream by lowering the freezing point of water [through adding salt] to way below zero.

I think glacial water is actually fresh water. ie: not salt.
