Peoples Driving Habbits-Snow
Today, we woke up to the biggest storm of the season so far. 7.8 inches. I was shoveling for 13 hrs, running around the metro. First of all people were driving WAY to fast. It showed as I counted 24 people in the ditch. The dumbest thing I saw all day was people in SUV'* driving 70-75mph in the passing lane were the cement median collects about 2 feet of snow from the plows. Catch that with you're left tire and you're toast. Well, one Nissan Pathfinder owner learned (if they survived). They cought the snow and got sent into a spin that manifested into a roll sideswiping a Dodge Caravan at 80mph. This closed the major interstate going into the city causing traffic for miles. Luckily, this was after the morning rush. I feel bad for those involved but feel worst about the Caravan that had to fall victom to someone elses stupidity. :shake

Im not worried about how fast drivers go or how slow they go. Just let them or pass them.
Im worried about the ******* SUV or truck driver riding my *** in the middle of an icestorm. If I have to make a turn and they dont back off, or if I have to slam my brakes, or if a person in front of me does..... thats it. I've seen what the back of a Bonneville looks like when it gets rear ended and I dont want to see it again. Especially on my car.

I play cautious even in a 4WD vehicle. And about the people driving on your ***, I carry a spotlight in my car and I shined it back one night when someone was doing that to me while it was snowing out. A 1 + million watt light gets their attention.

The guy doing 20 isn't likely to cause anywhere near the damage that a high speed vehicle will. Had a similar situation to what Fantastic described around this area today. Small SUV caught up in the snow, hit the guardrail, spun out, went across the median and took out a Mercedes. That isn't gonna happen with a slow-poke. When you're driving, you should expect anything, and be prepared for someone to do something really stupid!

First cars to always go off in the ditch after snowfall: anything with 4WD
They think they're invincible...
I have no beef with the cautious drivers. I'll be one of the ones going very slow (but not 20mph slow), but at least I keep to the right...
