Trying to find a new carbon fiber prosthetic foot
brace...
I'd probably need something either spring loaded or carbon fiber
Also known as an AFO Brace
Ankle Foot Orthoses is what it stands for.
Drop foot is a condition where an individual is unable to use the dorsiflexor muscles that lift the foot. It is most commonly caused by stroke, cerebral palsy or trauma or in my extremely rare case, a ruptured peroneal nerve injury lol. The two major complications are slapping of the foot after heel strike and dragging of the toes during swing.
I go back to salt lake city on Monday and want to know what to ask them to custom order, they claim they only 2 types of afo braces, both are very ghetto looking.....
the one I have right now is not going to work out.
I have found one design I like so far:
Located at this site:
http://ankleshop.com/products.asp?cat=608
Ossur Generation II AFO Dynamic
http://ankleshop.com/proddetail.asp?...102011&cat=608
Anything is better than what I have now
I also found a site with some different ones:
http://www.phatbraces.com/
But I still need help finding others that keep the foot at 90 degrees but still allow me to PUSH DOWN the foot, but since I cant bring it up, it needs to be spring loaded sorta speak.
I'm not having much luck finding other brands of this type of thing so maybe some of you guys have better googling skills than me. Any thoughts on this or links are greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it'* time for you to become rich by inventing a new, nicer, better-working one, Hans. Opportunity knocking...can you hear it??
Really what you're looking for is a concealed return spring at the ankle joint right? A little engineering to determine the correct amount of return force and a new carbon-fiber design, and you're off and running...so to speak.
Plus, I'll suggest custom colors.
Demanding Bastid, ain't I?
