While my Bonne is down I've been driving a 98 Mercury Grand Marquis with 17k on the clock
. I hate it; this car is everything my Bonne isn't. But I shot a video of 0-78mph I sat on the converter for the take off but it felt like it actually hurt the power. And the 1-2 upshift at about 45mph didn't feel good at all, back to driving this thing like a Grandpa.
Enjoy the video

Grand Marquis and Crown Victorias are actually pretty nice cars...
I prefer the box body style though, the '79-'87 bodies. I'd take an Interceptor any day of the week though.
I mean, I have been driving Crown Vics since I got my license five years ago, lol. Still have my '85... mainly bought the Bonne to keep miles off of it, and so I could have a reliable DD and winter car, lol.
Got the linky in my sig. if anyone wants to check it out, lol.

Interesting thread.
My wife and I sold our 99 Bonnie back in June and the replacement is the 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis you see in my sig.
We actually really like the car. It'* got ample power, drives like a dream, VERY comfortable, good on gas, not a bad looker, and gets you respect on the highway at night (motorists think it'* a cop since it has the same lights as a CV). Overall, we're very pleased with it. Not to mention, it'* inexpensive to buy and insure. And the repairs are few and far between. Since they're designed and built for service use they are durable cars.

This is why I liked my Grand Marquis... and yes this video is somewhat old and the car WAS NOT sold contrary to the window label lol.

One wheel or not... it puts on a good show, and yes that was a lawn mower with a system wired up to it you heard in the background. We get bored easily... ok?
