I have a Vivitar, Its junk. I heard alot of good about hp cameras. I am thinking of getting one myself. Try to get sometime above 2 megapixels of you want good picture. Mines 1.3 and it sux.

oh yea, i'm looking at a samsung at wal-mart i'ts 4 pixles 16mb for $278, just don't want to buy junk only want to do it once.

I got a Sony DSC-P10. It was over 300. A few things to keep in mind: find a media storage that you like; and go for a Lithium-Ion battery, that way you won't need to fool around with rechargable AA batteries.

I highly reccommend a camera with a lithium ion battery. Lasts a long time, and rechargeable.
If you are willing to spend more than you plan, but have an awesome camera, I have a Canon S400. Canon makes great cameras, and this is one of their higher end ones.
