Question US Cellular

Anybody here use this service provider, and if so, how do you like it (pros, cons, etc)?

I used to use it. It was good in the Illinois area to as far as coverage goes. The selection of phones sucks compared to other companies though, that is ultimately what got me to switch to Verizon.

If you don't mind me asking. how much does your service cost vs the service you recieve. I would just like to compare Canadian and US prices.
I pay 85 bucks with taxes for 2 phones w/
-100 text each,
-unlimited local and long distance between both phones
-unlimited evenings and weekends
-200 minutes local calling shared between both phones

I hope Im not hijacking your thread this just seemed like a good place to ask.

As for US cellular I could not say

Gonna add my 2 cents...
Straighttalk
$45 month-no contract
Unlimited text
Unlimited Nationwide voice
Unlimited Internet
Or the $30 month plan
1000 text
1000 mins nationwide
These are actually good pre-paid plans.
Kinda similar to Tracfone. Well, actually, Straightalk is another company of Tracfone, but they have better phones.

Boost & Straightalk are the two best pre-paid plans. $45-$50 for unlimited everything with no contract? Yes please

actually can't decide between USC and Verizon. Have T-Mobile now, coverage not bad but the phone I have sucks and all they keep doing is sending me refurbs (actually didn't know that even though I'm paying monthly insurance on it, the cost for them to send me out a brand new in-the-box replacement would be $65 or $75 UGH!) Looked at TM'* website and all they have are either "kiddie phones" or Blackberry/smartphones.

looking at the coverage maps, Verizon has a marginal edge over USC (someone out there verify for me that unless I've gone totally nuts, USC actually uses Verizon towers to digitally roam when your out of their coverage area), hmmmmmmm. Other than that, current promotion from USC is $49.99 a month for 1000 minutes, free incoming calls and texts ($5 a month extra for unlimited text). Verizon'* plans are 450, 900 and unlimited minutes (Talk & Text) respectively, but at a cost of $59.99, $79.99 or $89.99 (with no free options on any plan).

I'm on Verizon and own a Droid phone. I switched from AT&T with an iPhone. Verizon'* coverage is the best I found and with a phone I wanted. I also only pay $120 a month after my discount. That'* for unlimited everything.

it looks like we are all getting hosed by our cellular carriers. I kinda had the feeling US cell rates would be less expensive more than those in Canada.

I know a few people in your area with Verison, and they hate it. I spend most of my time to the south of me, so right in the Wisconsin/Illinois boarder, and I really don't have any problems other then when I'm performing at Bristol. But that seems to be the same with everyone no mater what carrier they have. I don't have any roam problems, dropped carrier, or anything. My only complaint is the really slow internet access on my smart phone. I've talked to a bunch of friends in this area when we wanted to switch. Some switched, and then came right back to USC.
