what u want is to stay 32bit, 64 isnt well supported yet so thats a no no
id reccomend an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ or similar (2800+, 2700+) with the barton core gigabyte motherboard, any model that supports socket a (i use the ga-7n400-L and have had no probs with it at all, id also reccomend the GA-7NNXP its a higher end model and performs better) ram: supertalent brand, they use high quality chips, are cheap in price and have a lifetime warranty, i bought mine from eagepc.com for next to nothing compared to other brands and have had no problems. video card: ATI Radeon 9800 series or better (i personally have a 9800XT 256mb and love it) power supply: NOTHING less than 500w, all that nice equip will burn out a smaller power supply my 2 cents ;) |

Ass.... Ha....Anyways....Check out Motherboards.com......find a nice setup you like, and then search the pieces out on Ebay.... Or, do what I did, buy a cheap PC, and wipe the hard drive to get rid of all the shit and load XP pro. Then you can firewire your stuff onto the new machine. I like mine because I have the 10 flash drives up front and stuff like that. And you may wana move up to BTX boards....You'll have to get a different case....but you can always paint it blue too. |
