Interesting talk with my Uncle...
...who works for GM at the St. Catharines plant. The home of the Cadillac V series powerplant, as well as the big time GM V8'* found in the top of the line Chevrolets. 5.7s and 6.0 and the like.
Apparently, at that plant they are currently working on a new naturally aspirated all aluminum FIVE HUNDRED HP all aluminum engine. Its a variation of the existing 6.0L LS2 400+ HP Corvette C6 mill, with additional P and P, wider and deeper boring and a seriously modified factory chip.
Basically Z06 numbers intended for upcoming sedans.
Not to mention all new supercharged powerplants.

We'll see. They are waiting on how a lot of their newly introduced cars sell. Right now its a engineers fantasy engine.
Apparently the Saturn Sky has sold out everywhere and I havent seen one at a dealership.
He mentioned how they are coming out with bigger V6 powerplants and blown 4 bangers for these new sport coupes. Should be an interested few years for GM. I remember him saying stuff about a supercharged STS a few years ago. Now they're on the road!

and like you said GM will have a few interesting years ahead, sure they killed a few cars off that they shouldnt have (bonny most of all) but they are also coming out with some really nice stuff. the cobalt i think will be a great tuner car to pull ppl from some of these little Jap cars(comes with the supercharged 4 banger (SS) like Jim was talking about) the G6 coupe is a thing of beuity (waiting for the SCed 3900 )
I being a GM employee know some some thing befor the rest of the public do (like Jims uncle) resently we got a sneak peak of a commercial show casing the GM domanace of the market through out the years of its history it was done to the sone Boys of Summer by Don Henly and I tell you if they ever put it to air i think it will bring ppl in (good marketing brings lots of ppl in) I thought that they would have aired it during the super bowl but it didnt happen (or maybe they show it in the States and not here in Canada, which has been known to happen)
Anyway im talking to much and starting to hijack this thread so ill stop now
