Default For JimW, high mileage Aurora

I was at the tire shop today with my Non-Bonney (Malibu) mentioned to the owner how fast I racked up 100k miles on it. He said with a wave of his hand" thats nothing, we just put a new set on an Aurora today that had 342k miles on it" 342k! And dropping coin for new shoes at that! Looks like we are all driving cars that we might be able to pass on to our kids LOL

and STILL buying a new set of tires! I wouldnt do that unless I planned to wear them out LOL. My 88 Royale only got used tires from about 150k on to 201k when I traded it off. Maybe I should have been more confident of it and hung on

Wow...thats astounding, makes my 90K miles look like a drop in the pail.

Amazing how routine maintenance helps. I dont know if I could ever get to 500 000 kms...340K miles, but still, thats impressive.

Did you know what year it was?

He didnt say, and actually didnt seem all that amazed that it was that high, he did add that"All ya gotta do is change the fliuds, wax it once in awhile and take care of problems and they go a LOT longer than the manufacturers want them to" My aunt and uncle have a full sized Dodge conversion van with over 400k on it, still shiny and intact, although the drivers seat has been reupolstered once LOL

He'* right LOL, Oldsmobile is gone I so wished I had kept my 88 Royale, spent some $$$ and fixed it back up. All it needed was a new steering rack, AC tires and paint job. And those pesky air struts in the back.

My wife and I were just talking about how many consumers trade cars not because they are worn out, but simply tired of driving the same thing and want to keep up with the Joneses. As long as her Bonney runs, shes happy with what she has

Well in your case jim the Boneville is gone next year

I'd say 365k on a 3800 should be easy, but a hot running N* is more impressive. Was it the 3.5 or the 4.0?
