hey guys. worst part is over now. but i figured i would show all of you my nightmare. bout a year ago, i was up on my grandmothers roof getting a frisbee down for my cousin. next thing i know, my damn foot went thru her porch roof. upon further inspection, the entire porch roof was soft. i proceeded to tear the whole top layer off, to avoid the thing falling during the winter. funds were not available at the time, so it sat like that the past year. about 2 weeks ago, my grandmother had several contractors quote her for the job. the lowest quote was $3,500.00. at which point, she called yours truly.

$350.00 in supplies later, and a you help me with the roof, ill fix your car helper im almost done. we decided to go with roll roofing, because the roof has less than a foot of drop over 8 foot. at this point, ive gotten down about 4 layers of tar paper closest to the house. and i plan to do 3 layers of roll roof on top of that, followed with a crapload of tar at all the seams and edges. (ive got a 5 gallon bucket to do a 8'X30' roof. lol)

when this is all said and done, if this roof leaks ill eat my own damn hat.

heres some pictures. as you can see, i had to reframe the whole roof thanks to those rotted out 2X6's

That's one thing I don't care to do is roofing. It's a lot of hard work that's for sure.
