What has this world(USA anyways) come to???!(rant)
So it'* 12:27PM according to Thunderbird time, and I'm on my way back to work from lunch. On a very busy street(2nd street for those familiar with Muscatine), at the intersection for the highway 92 bridge into Illinois, a baby stroller was sitting, facing away from the oncoming traffic, in between two lanes. The speed limit on 2nd street is 30 mph, but 97% of the people here drive 35-45mph. I approach this site, following about 7+ cars in front of me. ALL SEVEN CARS DID NOT EVEN HIT THE ******* BRAKES! I can't believe that crap. I was the only one that had enough sense to actually stop in the middle of the god damn road and make sure it did not contain a child. It appeared to have rolled off a sidewalk in front of a thrift store, because the brake wasn't set. It'* unbelievable that people wouldn't even have the consideration to at least SLOW THE **** DOWN AND LOOK. No, they just blew by it like it didn't exist. They must have all been bleeding to death because they didn't have enough time to stop and look. That'* unfuckingbelievable. It pisses me off to know that I have to even live near these kind of people. I would be ashamed to associate with ANY of them. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS PLACE COMING TO??!?!?!?

LMFAO! I am sorry but I live in NYC and I have seen worse. Don't get me wrong I understand what you are saying, but I have to admit it was funny the way you typed it.

That is why I choose to only associate with you fine folks here.
Believe me, I was beginning to lose faith in this world to, and I am thrilled to know
that there are still decent folks left in this world.
I can't believe people would do that, un freaking believable.

i have seen similar happen here and on 2nd street as well (In Williamsburg), it is completely ridiculous what people do/don't do. They must be really busy...

Applying some common sense to why they didn't stop....would be...that the stroller was not in the right place and there was no people on the STREET paying attention so therefore, personally, I would think, obviously theres nothing in it. Yes, I understand what you're saying, but I don't think I would slow down TOO much, probably just swerve around it...FAR around it.

IIRC that'* right in front of the Salvation Army... and somebody just let that stroller roll into the street? And nobody stopped to check if it had a baby in it? Wow... usually people in Muscatine are a little more sensible than that. It'* a small enough town that not everyone is jaded by humanity'* general insensitivity. That'* disappointing.... :(

First off. John, I'm sorry, but common sense is to stop. Period. No and'*, if'*, or but'*. you stop because you have NO WAY of knowing. Is it worth the risk? Not to me. It'* an outrage that people would be that way. It'* not unheard of for someone to step away from a stroller and have it roll away. It'* an unlikely situation, but not impossible.
As an after-thought, I'm sorry, John, but it really bothers me that you would try to justify their actions, or lack of. That in itself is why I had to bring this up. You can THINK something is okay, but do you think it'd be worth it, in this case, if you were wrong?
Secondly. Ben, you've been gone for a while. Muscatine has gone the way of ********. Inconsiderate people are everywhere, the place has absolutely fallen apart in my eyes. I look forward to leaving this place.... Yes, it was in front of the Salvation Army. They had a display on the sidewalk and apparently the stroller was supposed to be there with it, but no one set the brakes on it to keep it there.
It makes me sick to my stomach, having witnessed that.
