I almost did build something kinda like that, once. Had an early 70's Ford that I wanted a topper for and I was working construction at the time. Lumber would have been free. Unfortunately, the clutch when out before I got the chance...

Sounds real familiar.

Paid $350 for my 81 f150. It runs, it drives, and it will see a scrap yard before it ever sees a shop...lol

I have since sworn off what I call "one paycheck" vehicles. If I can pay for it with just one paycheck, I don't trust it. Of course, there are exceprions to every rule, but it's a policy of mine after going through I think it was 9 vehicles in about one year...
