Monte Carlo SS Supercharged
:D
I FOUND ONE! At a nice car lot here in red deer, locked up the brakes damn near to look at it. 52000kms...asking 27900 though for it. I took it out for a good drive, beautiful are the words for that car. Im glad i test drove it, i feel much better about my SSEi... SSEi is faster than that 04 Monte SS, no doubt As much as I hate to float my boat on this one, that car cant break em loose like my Bonny can (burnout vid in "in motion is NOTHING). Even with the Tourque Managment that car has. Still, a really nice car though, must say that.. 500 a month it would be, he asked if i wanted to trade my "mint" SSEi, i said, go ahead, try to pry it out of my cold dead hands. Pretty serious on that one too ;) I don't know. Beautiful car, im pretty wary on getting another loan though and more payments right now..ill probably just end up waiting. |
27900 seems a little steep to me. Thats still like, what, $21-22k US? We got ours brand new for $24k, and its a Dale Jr. edition with the striping package and interior and whatnot.
I've seen regular Supercharged SS's at dealers around here for $18k or so with ~30k on them IIRC. That Monte also has a lot more torque management than your SSEi does. And I garuntee you that you'd be suprised with how well it would keep up with your SSEi as well. Ours, with 2 people in it, with a crappy launch, and the only mod being a 3.4 pulley, ran a 14.4 @ 97mph. So, figure that the pulley made up for the crappy launch and extra person, and the car should've done close to that stock. They are very nice cars, however, and drive beatifully, and I'd recommend one to anyone. They are the nicest car in the w-body lineup IMO. Shawn |
It drove so nice..
Wow. Our dollar is actually getting ready to pass yours..so thats close to the american price easy. |
They are nice cars.

it is $25000 american |
Thier is lot factor that go into burnouts, maybe montecarlo has better tires or when the grip more. Or was the traciton control engaged. I know when I had the corsica with old tires it would do burn outs, but when I put 2 new tires i wouldn't do burnout if life depend on.

It chirped guys, didnt burn.
lets say 0-75 mine is faster. im still in second gear at 90 mph just at the fuel cut off, lots of power to be had in second gear still.. thats with me running my 2.2 and pulling a small ammount of KR still. |
of course the 93ssei feels faster but the monte will be faster once it hits the higher rpm, unlik your car where it hits the peak real quick in the gears and off the line.

I might believe that your car could take one to 40 or so, but I'm doubting 75. But even still I'm not 100% sure your car could even take one at all if the Monte had a good driver. While your Series I L67 does have more low end torque, the Series II has more than enough to smoke the tires (if you actually try) which off the line is all you need, because once you break the tires loose the extra torque does no good, and since the Monte is lighter and has wider tires I think it would hang with you right off the bat, but thats just my opinion. But I definately don't think an '04 Supercharged Monte is worth $25k. Shawn |
No, mine definitally feels alot faster.
0-40? No, more than that, undoubtly. ;) |
