Monte Carlo SS.....L36?
I thought the MC SS was a super charged animal?
Today was at the lot for parts and there was a 2004 Monte (sharp looking too) SS, talked with salesman and he grabbed the keys. First I went for was the hood and was suprised to see an L36? I lost intrest and went for oil filters well Pmom hung out with the sales man, they fired it up but didnt go for a test drive. |
The early ones had the L36 in them. Later on they got the option of the L67. Can't remember the exact year, but I think 2000-2002 were all L36.

The Supercharged SS is an option, but only for '04 and later, the '00-03's were L36 only. The SS normally is an L36, but you can option it up to a blown one. The only way to tell the difference on the outside is look on the side of the car where it says Monte Carlo SS, and the Supercharged cars will say "Supercharged SS", and the N/A's from '04+ will just say "SS", and the earlier ones say "Monte Carlo SS," except for the Dale Earnhardt Edition which says "Intimidator." I know its confusing, but hopefully that clears it up for you.
And, in case you were wonder, Supercharged SS's run damn good, especially with all the factory weight savings they have...that aluminum engine cradle doesn't hurt thats for sure. Shawn |
also, the supercharged SS with say exactly that on the side and come with factory 17in wheels.

It was a really nice car, the seats were so soft, but the engine didn't impress me. I love BoneEvil!!!!

the LS models came with the 3.4
|
and lets not forget the 97-99 model Z34's came with the L36. I believe these montes were quicker then the 00-03 SS's with the same powerplant.
