Default I was tempted by a CTS-V........

Today I went to a local Pontiac dealership to say hi to our saleswomen who we got our G6 coupe from. Sitting on her lot was a brand new 2007 CTS-V 400 horse LS2 with only 3000 miles on it. List on these cars in canada is about $75000........this one was being sold for $49,000. You don't know how close I came to trading in my SSEi on that beast.......but then common sense kicked and I came to the realization that my Bonnie was just as nice of a car, and for a lot less (since it'* paid off), but boy it was sooooooo tempting..................I may just go back and pretend to be interested in it just to take it out for a test drive. It had the 6 speed manual in it. Silver on black leather.

Please someone tell me I'm dreaming......nuts........crazy...........that I'd never be happy after I traded my bonnie............

Wow, that'* one hell of a car, and not a completely easy decision. Since the Bonne is paid off, why not keep it and get the CTS also?

j/k

I'd love a CTS-V, but I love my '03 so much if I were in the same situation as you I think I'd pass too. So maybe I'M nuts too.

I would have to think about it for a while honestly.

If you could have afforded it, I would have. The CTS-V is a serious, SERIOUS machine.

Either way, you wont lose sleep over not getting it.

Take it for a spin and make note of any little minor thing that bothers you. In 3 months those are the things that will really IRK the daylights out of you. At least thats the way it works with me.

IDK Brian, if I test drove it, liked it, and could afford it, I may have traded. That silver one you just posted reminded me how sweet those cars are.

Brian, thats not the V model. The grille is the dead giveaway.

Oh and my uncle works at that plant..I've visited a few times, and it was the first place I saw the C6, CTS-V and Bonneville GXP back in '04

Jim, the blue one isn't the V he was talking about, I think he just posted those because of the centrifugal supercharger.

They certainly are a sharp eye catching ride as well as a status symbol. I don't know if i'd drive it much if I ever could afford one. I'd be too afraiind of getting a door ding or something. Heck I've found I'm that way on a '98, I'd be ANAL about it on a car that cost me $50k

On the other hand, it sure puts the G8 in a more affordable light, if you know what I mean. LOL

One of my friends has a Red 05 CTS-V. I believe they have the LS6 in them, at least his does, that thing it so damn quick. Not to mention it looks amazing. I have rode in it a few times, but unfortunately he doesnt let anyone else drive it, although i have came close a couple times. When i got my SSEi he insisted that we race (on the track of course ) and needless to say i got spanked...but its not like i didnt expect it.

EDIT: I see now that the '06s do have the LS2.. '05s have the LS6
