Default Horrible realization tonight

I was driving home tonight and thinking about how I need to replace my front pads in a few thousand miles, and I had the sad realization that this new set of brake pads will be (more than likely) the last set of brake pads I ever put on this car. The serpentine belt I replaced a few thousand ago? Last belt I'll probably ever put on her.

It was a sad drive home. She'* treated me so good, but I know she'* getting old and starting to show it.

Shell her out and give her a heart transplant. Keep on driving until the wheel fall off!

This is when you start dreaming about what you're going to do next. Rebuild this one even better and faster or set your sights on a newer B'ville to take you through the next ten or so years. Sure, you can appreciate this one for all it'* given you, but use it as a good memory and move on to the next one.

Can you tell I'm a glass-half-full kinda guy?

Why is it done?

Motors are cheap
Body parts are cheap
Repairs are easy

Shell out a few hundred here and there over the year... instead of a few thousand for a new car.

I thought the exact same thing about my Eagle. It was an 88, we had it until 96 with better than 200k on it, I had tint, cd, Kickers, more money in the car than I paid for the Bonnie. But, look what I got afterwards, a lot better car. I plan to keep this one till the wheels fall off, then I'm puttin em back on .

heck when i wrecked my 94SSE, and the insurance company totalled it, mom wanted me to just give it up but i took the money and put 1200 into it to completely rebuild the front end and some engine parts and it is still on the road today, i wanted to keep it, and even after we traded it in on my black gtp, we bought it back and drove it for another year until mom got her green gt, and we still have the 92, ill prolly never part with that car, even though it isnt my daily driver, it is still a great car, and it is going to be my project car/actually it already is

engine replacement is cheaper than a new car and you get a warranty again . my engine grenaded at only 82000 mi. new rebuilt motor in it now and the possibilities of things to do are driving me nuts
