Long overdue Europe pics (56K warning...huge pics) NEW PICS!
Hey. sorry it took me so long to get these up, but I got busy (and lazy ), and I knew how long this post was going to take to make.
Anyway, as some of you know, I went to Europe this spring, and I had a great time. I visited Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland (in that order), and I want to go back. :P
And here are the pics (sorry they're so big...I don't know how to resize them. If a mod or admin wants to help me out there I'd be very thankful ).
Oh, and sorry they're not in any particular order...that would have taken way more time than I have.

Heidelberg Germany viewed from an old castle.

One of the famous Venice canals.
9fcfb151.jpg
The guy at Murano (the art glass company in Venice) that no girl could take her eyes off of :P (sheesh those high school girls were hysterical in Italy )
976ef6ee.jpg
Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. It was built by a 19th century gay prince, and you can tell. :P What a beautiful place though...it was like Queer Eye For the Straight Guy had been there.

View of the rooftops of Rothenburg, Germany from the town hall tower...and you should have seen the number of stairs we had to climb to get there!

View from the top of one of the Swiss Alps.
4935aad1.jpg
View off of the wall of Rothenburg (old medieval walled town...very cool)

Venice as we left on the boat that night (I have to go back there someday...it'* the most beautiful city I've ever seen).

More Venice by sunset.

Castle ruin in Heidelberg.

View from a boat in Switzerland on the way to the mountains.
Swiss Alps

Lucerne, Switzerland (by far the best city I've ever been too...like a combination of Boston and the lakes region of NH...and the people are so nice. I want to move there)

Just like in Euro Trip...lol...they were dead on

Verona, Italy

Our whole group on top of the world.

Nueschwanstien Castle (but reversed...I haven't had the time to flip it in Photoshop yet )
The ceiling of St. Mark'* Bascillica in Venice. That place was just dripping in gold.

The side of a building in Venice (my only attempt at an artsy photo for the trip. :P )
fe658640.jpg
More Venice canals (from the gondola ride...so much fun)

Courtyard in Rothenburg
445a0ebf.jpg
The more sobering side of the trip...the creamatorium at Dachua...we saw the gas chambers too, but thankfully they were never used as Dachua was a concentration camp, not a death camp.
2d6afdac.jpg
Back to the pretty stuff...the famous bridge in Lucerne
55c76768.jpg
The supposed actual balcony of Romeo and Juliet (the little pieces of paper below it are things that people have stuck to the wall with names of their lovers on them (some of the things were not so romantic...for instance, old gum with names written on it, and my fave, the woman'* pad )
4970dad1.jpg
The famous Glockenspeil in Munich...still plays after hundreds of years...so cool
a1b1c09d.jpg
And just for you drinkers out there, one of the largest wine barrels in the world (there is one larger in the next room, but no way to take a picture...but just to give you an idea, there'* a dance floor on top of it ).
Well, that pretty much sums up my trip. Sorry it took so long.

I think my fave is the one from the boat in Switzerland...I love that place. I was there for 10 days with my husband, another teacher, and 14 high school kids...and the funny thing is the kids were the best part! (there'* nothing like watching kids see something spectacular for the first time...they have so much energy, and even at that age they're cute. ).

Great pics, makes me kinda miss Europe. Ahh yes, Heidelburg and Rotenburg used to be some old stomping grounds of mine. The Disney castle was always cool, too bad he never finished it. Did you visit his other castles also? Never been to Venice, only the Rome area.

Absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Makes me want to go! The one pic of Rothenburg with the rooftops made me think of "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"
I love Switzerland especially! What an awesome trip you had!

Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whole misadventured piteous overthrows
Do with their death bury their parents' strife.
The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,
And the continuance of their parents' rage,
Which, but their children'* end, nought could remove,
Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage;
The which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend
