3100 V6 Wanted
I'm looking for a 3100 V6 for a 1996 Chevy Monte Carlo? I live in Michigan and I am having trouble looking for one. Message me and I'll give my email.

yeah, don't got nothing. I guess these 3100 are hard to come by cause there such a hunk ojunk. I thought they were mass made, but I heard most of em break aroun 100k. They ONE I have found is 134k for 850 dollars. Seriously like rip. The junkyards want 250 with 200 core charge for one, but they hadn't had one that ran in like 6 months. Sorry bought the lounge thing, it will be corrected............

Well, I can put a 3400 in it, but I'd probably have to do a computer swap. I guess the 3400 is just a 3100 block and heads with a differant intake and diffent MASS or something. They ain't much better from what I read on them.

The 3100 had its share of issues... The main cause of failure for one is the intake gaskets.. This does not make it a hunk of junk.... I have seen these engines easily run 200K and beyond... But the Intake gaskets should be replaced between 60-100k....
3100'* should be a dime a dozen depending on where you are

That what I thought. There are lots of cars with that engine. From what I gather from where I am, they're hard to come by. Sucks.

They're hard to find because most people don't bother replacing the intake gaskets and end up with a toasted engine. The ones you do find have high mileage but still demand a high price.
Did you check with LKQ? The closest one is in Belleville. Those guys are great and have excellent parts.
