Very crazy idea, but it could be cool...

Default Very crazy idea, but it could be cool...

Wasn't sure where to put this. I was working today, and I was bored, and I got a crazy, silly idea. But it could possibly be cool, if it'* even possible. Here'* the auestion: I have the blade-type alloy wheels offered on Bonneville SEs on my 93 It'* got Kellys on the front, both decent wear, and Goodyears on the back. I have a crazy idea. Would they work on that Aurora I'm going to get? Are the tire ratios similar enough between the two wheel sizes to enable a clean swap without mods? Is it even advisable? I know some of you have done torque star swaps from newer model Bonnies, and you've said they're almost the exact same tire, except for actually being a little better because of... more sidewall, I think it was? Anyways, I know mine aren't the same, but how different from the Aurora'* meats are they, really? And I wonder... they look good on the Bonne, but would they even look good on the Aurora? I'm thinking about some wheel swap eventually anyway, given I have the money (which I probably won't, to waste on that, at least, for a WHILE ) because I really don't like the stock Aurora rims. Anyways, just a thought. And if anyone'* selling torque stars cheap, tell me, maybe I could scrounge up the dough for a good deal :P Thanks again all, for looking!

Oh yeah, and here'* what my rims look like below. With a centercap that says "ABS", inlike in the picture, of course

Wow, just saw these on the same site. Wouldn't these look cool on an Aurora? I dunno, they look clean and they're aluminum. Maybe I'm just weird, I dunno What do you guys think?

For four? $255 seems like a hell of a final price for those torque stars in that auction! If you're talking about my links, though, yea, I kinda agree. And no center caps, what'* up with that :? But I was pretty much referring to just the style. I wish I could get some technical feedback on this...

Torque stars on an Aurora... that'* what it'* all about.

Kyle, yes your wheels would fit an Aurora but I'm not sure they'd look too good either. The difference in Bonny/Aurora stock tires is width and corresponding sidewall height.

Bonneville (most): 225/60R16
Aurora: 235/60R16

Aurora tires are a tad wider, and the 60% sidewall ends up being a hair taller as well. I eventually had my 16" torque stars remounted on Aurora-sized tires, so I would match the Oldsmobile specs and my speedometer reading.

How much are torque stars going for nowadays, and where could I get 'em? If they're cheap, I might be interested Because I hate the stock Aurora wheels. Just something about them

If you are lucky enough to have the OE chrome kickers...leave em alone! I would have if my car came with em

I do love my 17'* from the 00 SSEi!
