Looking for a New Truck
My truck, Although I love it is only a 2 wheel drive !!
Almost useless come the great white north'* winter months..
I need something can throw a plow onto and just don't feel like adding 2000LBS of weight to the *** of her.
My Truck 2002 Silverado 2500HD 200,000 kms
What I am looking at
2003 FORD F-250 LARIAT QUAD CAB
2003 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 KING CAB
And finally
2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500
I am leaning towards one of the Dually'*, Means a higher towing capacity. The other thing I am thinking is if I can pick one up for 10,000.00 I have a friend that wants to trade me for his 03 3500HD Crew Cab Dually with a under the bed wheel lift...
He kinda wants my truck, but I have way to much into it right now. Exhaust, Headers, Tune, Intercooler.. All the go as fast as you can parts lol

Dodge fan here, with a 94 3500 Dually with the Cummins diesel. Works like a mule, I drive and load it like I hate it, and the engine purrs with new injector pump. Only part I've replaced in 150k miles. I won't brag further. But take a look around you as you drive and see what brands are still around in good shape after 15+ years. My 88 Ford 4X4 literally fell apart by '03. Puarked it in a side yard and it collapsed piece at a time. LOL. Total rustbucket throughout. Engine and entire drivetrain shot @188k miles.
Dually'* suck in the winter. They even suck in wet grass without a load. But our winters here allow me to leave my chains on through the season and with weight in the back it'* unstoppable. (I fill the front half of the bed with 4 gallon kitty litter buckets come freeze time and fill them with water) For hauling capacity and stabity while driving, a dually can't be beat. It tows my 32 foot Pontoon Boat like it was nothing. If plowing is you only concern/duty for the truck, I'd go 2500 4x4. Neighbor has a GM 2500HD he has great luck with in the plowing dept. But I've used it to take the boat for service and what a difference in steering vs the dually.

Plowing won't be the only use. I routinely haul 12000 lbs plus the other day I moved with trailer 22000 with my 2500HD
Pulling wasn't an issue stability and stopping was haha.
I have a window to stay in here 2000-2004
Yes I like the dodge not for looks but power! But reliability isn't there imo
Parts are crazy !! How much was your pump lol
And I'm a chevy guy. I like my duramax !!!

My partner had more money than me in our ventures and chose Ram. I ended up with it.. I prolly would have went Duramax, but now after owning a straight 6 Cummins, I got nothing bad to say about it. The injector pump cost me $1800 wholesale from Cummins via a Cummins tech that got me their jobber price. It retails for $2600, and RockAuto wanted $2150. It was the only thing that has failed on the engine. The Tech when taking it apart found the lobes flattened and blamed it on me for not using a lubricant additive after sulfur was removed from diesel. I redid the front end/shocks/brakes~rotors~hubs/seals a little over a year ago and they were all very reasonable from RockAuto. For me its a great thing this truck series lasted for so long. For the price of a dually, especially one with optioned out SLT option package or equivalent and heavy tow rating; I'll be keeping this one well maintained for some time to come.
Ya, big diff in stability having the duals.
