I was in Best Buy yesterday and somehow me and the guy in the speaker section got talking about Bonnevilles. According to him, my car has the "small block" V6 and in 93 you could also get the "big block" V8. I told him that in 93 you could get the n/a V6 and the s/c V6, but he's stuck on the idea of a V8. Oh well, to each their own I guess.

Yup, they are out there. Just can't argue with stupid people, they think they are always right. You just can't fix stupid.

BWAHAHAHAAHAHAAHHAHA
:roflmao:

OMG, such a typical Best Buy employee. This is why I hate my job. Everyone I work with are complete morons, except for the installers, but sometimes even they drop something like that. In fact, more than once a week, I get some punk who tries to screw with me because I work at Best Buy, but is surprised that I actually know what I'm talking about .

2 years ago, I walked into best buy and went to the car audio department and asked the guy working in that department if they were going to hold an S.P.L. competition like the other stores. He looked at me with a stupid look on his face and said no I don't think we do that here. He had absolutely no idea what the heck I was talking about. The sad thing is, he even asked the installer and he gave him some dumb answer letting me know he didn't know what it was either.

*For those of you that don't know, S.P.L. comps or Sound Pressure Level cometitions are stereo competitions to test how many Decibels your subwoofers can hit.

speaking of best buy

the december 8th entry is entertaining to read and pertains to his experience with best buy.

BonnevilleLErocks 05-22-2007 10:01 PM

I find it amazing that he would debate a topic like that with someone who actually owns a bonneville

thunderhand 05-23-2007 07:30 AM

here's your sign.

idiots are taking over the world

I couldn't go into that section with a straight face. If I was wanting to talk speakers, they probably would have neverheard of mine, and suggest getting some Bose for the ultimate "hi-fi" experience.

I'd rather have a huge boom box then any bose system..

He kept tryin to get me to buy Infinity. I told him I wanted Pioneer but he was stuck on Infinity.

What scares me is my wife goes into these places and actually thinks these lower tier employees (is that a politically correct term?) know what they are talking about when she makes the mistake of asking one a question about something they carry.

wjcollier07 05-24-2007 12:22 AM

haahhahaahha, yeah. i know what you mean. i have so many customers that i have tell me they got something at best buy and it either was not what they needed, or didn't work etc and they usually are completely convinced that those people would not be working there unless they were fully trained and knew completely what they were talking about.....yeah...its sad. So usually they get told differently, and i usually eventually convince them not to go back there for anything.

GXP Venom 05-24-2007 12:58 AM

I'm not slamming Best Buy in general. They have good prices and I have bought a number of things there, But, There is a reason they have low overhead. Dont walk into one and expect to find electronic geniuses there to help You.

ga93sle 05-24-2007 11:10 AM

That's still probably where I'm gonna get my stuff. It's the only place around here that carries decent Pioneer speakers for a decent price. But I'm NOT gonna have them installed theree. I'll have my uncle do it and it'll still be free.

nicklikesmilk 05-24-2007 11:14 AM

ha, that's great. the guys at best buy messed up the instalation of a stereo in my friends buick century. they hooked up the antenna power lead in to the amp lead in, so the antenna was always up, and when he tried to install an amp, it was only on when the radio was on. really, is "amp" and "ant" that hard to differentiate?

Cheetah 05-24-2007 11:29 AM

Chris, at least you walked in there, knowing what you were after, and knowing that the guy was slightly less than genious.

Glad you still have your baby? ;)

Yes, in all her 2-speakers-left-but-one-rattles glory.
