Job Advice...
 

I've been working at McDonalds since Feb. 1st of '06. Everything has been good since then. I like most of my co-workers and the pays allright. But now it's getting really OLD really fast! I NEED TO GET OUT OF THERE!!!! The thing is I have no idea what other half decent jobs thats not fast food and pays more than minimum wage. I need some ideas of what kind of jobs are do-able for a 17 year old. Someone shed me some light!! Help me!

If you have a hospital nearby, check there, They always go thru housekeeping and Food Service people, maybe even patient transport or valet parking.

If you've got some extra cash, see about getting your security guard certificate. it costs about $150 up here but some places do pay for it as long as you work for them.

I don't have a hospital close by, Valet parking? :twisted: heheheheeeeee

How hard do you wanna work ?

Some warehouse jobs pay well if you're willing to work nights and bust your hump.

Also if you get into a bigger place they actually have health ins.

There is a place here in syr that distibutes stuff for like staples and they pay 11 an hour to start in the warehouse. they have health ins and a retirment package... dang I can't remember the name.... it will come to me.. but they are located around the country.

Anyhow.. not just them.. food distributors warehouse work pays well...

It's hard work but good for "unskilled labor"

On a side note West Corporation has a call center about 5 minutes from my gannies house. My mother keeps saying. "All U have to do is take credit card requests and they pay like ten bucks an hour." I have no idea if thats true or if shes going senile at 43 :lol:.

I looked up and saw 1 position available, but its for a bilingual canidate :roll:

Another thing that I think about are factory/assembly line jobs. Has anyone here have any experience on em?

You said you're 17. Are you out of High School? Being under 18 is gonna limit some of you options due to child labor laws. Being in school if you are, is gonna limit it even more.

I got out of school because of all the problems I had. (don't wanna talk about it)

I'm home schooling myself to get my GED in the near future. I have enough time for a full time job and work on my GED. And yeah being 17 really limits my possibilites. :(

when i was 15 i worked at McDonalds. then 16 worker at Meijers, 18 i started working at Alltel.
My advice is just explore, theres plenty out there.
