Bonneville HHR

So, what do you think? I'm very disappointed with the greater amount of HHR and lesser amount of Bonneville (i.e. styling and overall awesomeness).

This is heresy to the name "Bonneville". They are clearly using the "Salt Flats" meaning and not the "Pontiac" one. What? Are all "performance" GMs going to be called "Bonneville". That cheapens the memory of the Pontiac Bonneville.
Oh and yeah. That HHR will sell as well as the other one.

This has nothing to do with our Bonneville, so this is off to the lounge.
(this is also a repost)
That version of the HHR isn't intended for production. Its simply for wow-factor and a run at the flats.

kids... :P
The bonneville name is used on a lot of 1-off performance vehicles such as this, because they are intended to be used to break speed records at, you guessed it, Bonneville Salt flats.
It is very rare that you'd find a new car that'* going to meld any of the current pontiac line with itself.

Just so you know, an SS version of the HHR is planned and will have the same 260 hp turbo 2.0 Ecotec as the Sky Red Line, Solstice GXP, and Cobalt SS. Now THAT is a HHR I would own

BTW, INTENSE built the trans for that, or at least major chunks of it. The picture hangs on their wall alongside a picture of a similarly built Cobalt, and the Spririt of Bonneville, the 200MPH FWD Bonneville SSEi.

This is very good to know. I had suspected that it'* a "Bonneville" because of the salt flats, but I wasn't too sure. Are we certain that Bonneville won't be coming back as the name of a fast car? I know the Star Chief earned its name in 57 by being the fastest car there, so is it possible?
