Turbo Tax...two thumbs up from me
In response to the tax refund poll, I just want to put out my recommendation for you guys to try the Turbo Tax software. It'* a wonderful way to prepare your own taxes and save money.Plus it'* easy to use and it checks for errors that can lead to an audit. It took about a week and a half for me to get my refund directly deposited in my checking. Plus its' cheaper than going to tax preparer. Did any of you use it this year?

I've always used TurboTax in the past. This year, my wallet got the best of me and I went with TaxCut because it was cheaper. Boy, am I regreting it. TaxCut royally sucks compared to TurboTax.

turbo tax is a ripoff
I filed my taxes last week and have already received both refunds state and federal.
I paid $7.95 total for everything.
go with one of the free sites listed on the IRS page.

I've used Turbotax for like four years. I used Tax Cut once inbetween and regretted it. It wasn't a bad program, just not as user friendly. I'm going to check out one of the cheaper places like TaxAct this year. My wife is done with her side business, so that will make tax filing much easier.

I have to pay my own taxes
assuming they take about 25 percent there goes over 1000 dollars
but my parents have an accountant. Personally I would have used turbo tax or similar

I have used TurboTax for 2 years now...maybe 3.
Unfortunately, I lived in NY for part of last year so my fees totalled almost $100 since it is $25.xx for each state, and then $66+ in other fees. Brought my refund down a significant amount.
Plus I pay state taxes this year for the first time ever... less than $20 per state.
I finished my taxes and e-filed, then a day later I got a student loan interest form at my parents' in NY. They always send them late, and more than one. I could have deducted another $400
