70 Buick Skylark questions
What would it be worth? Body is decent and recently painted, but the floors still need to be done. No motor/tranny (have a 71 Buick 350 here already) missing some front end parts (bumpers, grill, etc) and the rear bumper, but the rest is in good shape. Seats are not original. Glass and vynal top are good.
Found one for $500, but can possibly talk them down. The money for this would come from recent computer parts sales.

unfortunately I sold the tranny I had (strapped for cash at the time)
Shouldn't be hard to find a decent one. This would be a winter project. Just to get it to a driver for now. I'll go crazy later.

Yeah, $500 is pretty good. Problem is you say it'* missing front end parts and the rear bumper. That stuff can get pretty expensive. You might have to spend at least a grand to get decent parts for that stuff.

the idea would be to eventually make it a GSX or Stage 1 clone, so in theory, I'd have to buy all the front and rear components anyways. And this would be a longer term project. Going to see the car tonight and take lots of pictures. If it passes my inspection, then an offer will be made. If it is accepted then I'll have to figure out how to get it back. If it is not, then I'll be going this weekend to see if the yards here have parts cars i could get parts from, and how much, then go back and make another offer.
plus, I have a friend with a 71 that is just sitting in his yard that is a GS clone already that I'd consider trying to buy for parts.

here are some pictures:

The car had more than I thought. Bumpers, grill, headlight surrounds were all there. Door panels, guages, uncracked dash, rear seat. Headliner had one little issue, visors looked decent.
Now for the bad. undeside was covered with scale, but no holes. floors definitely need to be replaced. had hole, just metal panel screwed in then tar covered the bottom. Paint looked decent for a driver and the top was in good condition. No AC car, possibly power steering.
So what is everyone'* thoughts.
