2005 Pontiac Pursuit
I was at my pontiac dealership today getting a bottle of SC oil, on my way out, i was looking at there 4 Door Pursuits, fully loaded for like 21500 CDN 2.2 Ecotec. Sticker on the side said 30 mpg in town and 46 on the highway! thats AWESOME. Suddenlly i think, man that would be perfect, cheap and new...as our gas just jumped to 3.95/gallon for premium...., i gassed up the bonneville today 65 dollars, and thats once a week for me. I don't want to sell my Bonneville though...just keeping my eyes open, i looked at the G6 there as well, man thats a pretty nice car..
So any opinions on the Pursuit?

These are EngerGuide numbers right?
The same agency (Goverment run?) rates the NA 3800 at 21/40, and the 3400 at 24/42 (both from the Impala). Though I assume that these numbers are at very nice 'n' easy test conditions, I reckon their highway test is at 80 or 90km/h (50-56mph)

If the Pursuit had the same SS option like the Cobalt SS, I'd pick one up for bootin around in, simply cuz I prefer Ponty over Chevy.
But the Pursuit will be a good competitor for the Corolla, Jetta et al (wait...the new Jetta is a Corolla)

They must be getting their numbers by the gas mileage you get while cruising on the highway instant, not an average. At around 60-65 MPH my DIC says right around 36-39 MPG instant. Jim, that is really great gas mileage especially with the autobahn package. I'm surprised the 8 gives that mileage. very impressive. I need to drive the SSEi more, but I think that only gets right around 32 MPG instant at the same speeds. Those Corollas do get awesome gas mileage. One of my girlfriends has a 2004 and she gets over 40 MPG consistently. But the speed is a whole other story. Or lack thereof. :P
I was considering buying a brand new Pontiac G6 GT but decided against it just because I found the Aurora and I didn't like how cheaply the interior on the G6 felt. it was a really nice car though. Buying a brand new car would be really cool, but I wouldn't feel right doing it without feeling guilty.
