i know it seems silly that id even be posting this, but this friend of mine has a Contour, shes not sure what year, but its the older body style with a 4 cylinder...she claims it can beat my car, and all of her friends who got their trucks spanked by it feel the same way...i for one would like to prove her otherwise...so heres some numbers

Ford Contour
2.0l 125hp DOHC 4 cylinder
5 speed manual
weighs less than 3000 pounds with her included probably.
final drive im unsure...the only info ive found is for a v6 Contour and it was either a 4.06:1 or a 3.92:1 depending on the tranny.

im also not sure how good of running condition its in.

my car

3.5l DOHC V6 215hp
4 speed Automatic
between 3500-3600 with me in it.
3.05 final drive ratio

if she can drive the stick good she might win....otherwise your 95+ hp will offset the weight

id say she probably can, shes not your usual blonde ditz..shes races motocross on the weekends

and im also afraid i cant launch my car worth a crap, i wouldnt spin much because i simply dont have the low-end to do so, when i floor my car from a standstill it just scratches a little then goes.

im thinking about waiting till i do my hi-flo cat and u-bend delete before i take this on....have a bit of an extra edge.

id really hate to get shown up by a 4 banger....especially a Ford that doesnt even put triple digits to the ground.

you got torque out the A$$ compared to that thing, She might get you off the line, but that is it.

i personally think you would beat her the 3.5 is a powerful motor even in a heavy car like that, and if she beats you im sure some bonne owners would loan you theirs to smoke her with.

hell i would loan ya my mercury (contour with mercurys name on it) if it were movin, it would eat her alive with the duratec v6 that it had

the info for the V6 was the first i saw when lookin i was like "holy crap, 170hp in a car that doesnt even weigh 3k with a 5 speed?...im gonna get pwned!"

but then i remembered her saying that it was a 4 cylinder.

my confidence is growing on this one, whats great is that she claims she can beat me, as do all her friends, id like to see this one be "made interesting" and walk away with a bit of green...cha ching!

i also forgot to mention that my car is red, and hers is green.....so that in itself should be enough information

4 banger owners talk a big talk, but come on now, A stupid contour beating a 3.5?

MAybe if she has done mods, and I mean real ones, not putting an R/T sticker and dragon logos on it.

She might make it off the line faster, but once you pick up speed, she hasn't a chance.

Our cars are not good right off the line, but once they get going, watch out!

I for one will say this - you are gonna kick ***. it is not even gonna be a chore for you.

BUT - act like you expect to lose. Then when she comes in 2nd, you can really boast.

FUN FACT - the only way a stock 4 cylinder is fast is if it has many high dollar mods, and even then, those poor 4 basngers cannot handle it'* own power.
If stock 4 banger POS were fast, Camaro'* and Mustangs would have no reason to even exist.

FUN FACT II - Of course 4 bangers act bad, Much like the school wussies, they feel they must prove something.

I had a 96 countor with the same motor and 5 speed. It held its own, race her and settle this.
