Got OnStar?
I've been reading up on what some people are doing with their onstar systems. I've never used it but aparently its somewhat of a hefty "fine" each time you need directions. Some penny pincher had enough of it and came up with a way to hook the onstar GPS system to your laptop and get directions that way. And get this, aparently its perfectly legal and they've already addressed the "problem". It was figured that its your property since you bought the car with the GPS system, you're allowed to modify it in anyway you want. Just as you would modify your engine. BUT there is the catch, you wildly modify your engine and you lose the warranty...same goes with the OnStar system. There was talk of voiding your cars warranty if you take it apart. BUT if your warranty has passed or you have access to a wrecking yard with a new car that has onstar in it you might be interested. Check it out yourself:
