Default They stole my idea!

Well a few years before I had it they did, but none the less. About 3 weeks ago I was playing around with some natural magnets trying, with a buddy of mine, to create electricity using a suspended copper tube, copper brushes, and a powerful magnet. Complex but thats not the point. While working on getting one of the magnets suspended my car thinking brain thought "Hey, using an electromagnet I could raise and lower the suspended magnet above it by altering the power to the electromagnet. And since all this happens at nearly the speed of light (have to compensate for the time it takes the magnet to move) wouldn't it be cool to have this incorporated into a cars suspension. Then once it felt a bump it could weaken the electromagnet while the suspension travels up and tighten things back up on its way down. This would result in very minimal movement of the body itself." Well the other day I'm browsing through a car mag and I read this:

"GM'* new Magnetic Selective ride control system alters the viscosity of magnetic fluid inside the shock absorber by introducing an electric current to that fluid. The shock is therefore very adaptable to any road and driving condition, and it works in conjunction with sensors that actually read the road ahead of the tires. This system works fantastically well and will eventually be offered in retrofit kit form and will not only bolt on but will plug into existing computers. This system will prove to be terrifically popular."

AHHHH! If I thought of this just before they began developing it I could have patented it and sold the idea to them for $2,398,740,237,439,287,430,294.54 !!! Damn me and my late thinking brain. This happened before when I was like 6 and use to watch Rescue 911 on tv (remember that old show?). They were always using a defibulator on people who "Had a history of heart problems" as I remember one show saying. I thought "Well if they KNOW they're going to have heart problems why don't they just put something inside them that'll monitor their heart and send a pulse to it when it starts going off beat." I even drew crude pictures (as only a 6yr old could) of my idea and showed it to my sister. My sister, not understanding my idea, told me that it was a pace maker and already invented. Not knowing any better I threw the idea away and never thought about it again. About 4 years ago I was walking past my TV and Headline news was on and they started talking about a "Miracle medical invention". The announcer went on to say almost word for word what I had described to my sister years ago. Now the "Internal defibulator should revolutionize health care for the elderly". AHHHH! AND AND GET THIS! When I was like 10 I used to rollerblade all the time. Ya know when you rollerblade for a long time then start walking it kinda feels like you're still skating? Well I used to wear sketchers (shut up) and one time after blading for a few hours I was walking around and it felt like I was blading still. I looked at the huge soles sketchers used and started thinking about what it would take to put wheels in them. I dropped the idea after debating the damaging effect of trying to use a knife (only tools I had) to cut the hard rubber out of my shoes. I think we all know where that idea went. STRAIGHT TO THE BANK FOR SOMEONE ELSE!!! That settles it. No matter how weird an idea I have from now on I'm going to patent the bastard and let the companies come to me. I'd suggest the same to any of the rest of you!

Actually you wern't the first to think this up. K2 was, yep the ski company. They make their own shocks for their full suspension mountain bikes, and in 1998 i believe they incorporated a piezo-electric shock like this into the front and rear suspensions.

yea.. they stole my idea for the hybrid cars too :(

years ago, I came up with the idea (was looking at windmills or something) that car makers should use the spinning of the tire to charge a battery or use it to power anything electric...

I've had many ideas that were stolen...that sucks...I guess it'* not the man with the ideas, but the man that runs with it... :?
