Default Went to Chevy dealer last night...

I was browsing online and I saw that this dealer was running specials on 2006 models to clear out for the '07'*. So, I took a drive up there to see what they had. I already had my mind set on another Malibu, but it had to be an upgrade. So, I test drove the only new SS they had in stock. Man, what a blast that car is! Way too much power on tap for a smallish car like that, but then again, that is what all of us are after right? Salesman came back with some numbers, which of course I didn't like, after which his reply was "This is the best I can do".

Bummer.

So then he asks me where I want to be in my payments, and I tell him. He then tries to sell me a Colorado. Which wouldn't be so bad...IF IT HAD THE OPTIONS I WAS GIVING UP. No dice. His boss then comes up to me to sell me yet another Colorado, with the options I was looking for. Still, after that drive, my mind was made up. I flat out told the manager that I came looking for a Malibu, and if I have to keep what I had to be satisfied, so be it. So he gets HIS boss out. Now things get interesting. This guy wants to move a unit, ANY unit that will fit my price range. And if he has to sell a car at invoice to do it, then so be it. So he asks what I originally came in for, and I told him I wanted that SS. He says "No way, I won't sell an SS for invoice". Which is fine. I said "I want a Malibu Maxx, better than what I have".

He looks over his papers, he asks "What about an LTZ?"

Hmm. I go out to look at it. I am floored. Leather everywhere, auto climate control, steering wheel controls for the stereo, even the rear stereo for rugrats. At invoice. And drives nearly as well as the SS. No sunroof though...but that'* fine...my Bonneville can fill that position when it'* running.

Papers are signed, car is in driveway. Yes, pics will follow when my internet comes up at the new place...which should be today.

I agree. I saw a Malibu SS on the highway the other day and drove by it several times to get some good looks at it. Those things are SHARP. THe LTZ isn't too shabby either. Good to see you got a good scroe.

I have to go back to the dealer today to get the system out of the '05. I also found some crappy tint jobs all around the new car, so it'* gonna get redone.

Yeah, it'* got the 3.5, same as my old one. The biggest differences between the two are leather, 17" chromies, spoiler, and OnStar. And 40k miles

Just for the record, I really liked the '05 and probably would have kept it if I didn't do all that commuting crap. And though I got the new ride at invoice, the monthly payment is still pretty steep due to all the negative equity from the '05. But the interest rate is WAY lower, and I have much more car than I did yesterday.

Do not worry, pics will come soon enough
