Let me try to smooth something over here.
There may be a belief that the new owner (niceguy) is Peter T Davis. I can assure you, that is not the case. I spoke with the new owner this morning on the phone.
Let'* play by the rules here.

[QUOTE=niceguy;1348597]Sounds awesome Niko!
The new look is just standard vBulletin, I think we could still spruce it up a bit

Some shrubs and a few small concrete statues perhaps.

After blundering around a bit, getting various virtual doors slammed in my face and finding myself with no privileges of any kind, I was able to figure out that some sort of big battle or palace coup or something had occurred. Decided to just back out again, make sure the door didn't hit me in the butt on the way out, and stop in again later (i.e. today) just to see if the dust had settled. Hopefully the worst is behind us now...?

Well... speaking as a former Gearhead here (now retired), I try to drop in at least once a month if not more often, and was astounded at what I found here a few weeks back.

For instance, this site will run advertisements, they wont go away. But they definitely wont be visible to users UNLESS they're geared towards Bonnevilles (ie: Bonneville parts direct) These vendors would need to contact me directly for this. Now, seeing that this likely won't happen, i am not worried about it.
The dust is settling. Since i have opened the forum it has been spammed 3x by former people who "loved" this site. I was "WARNED" this would happen... hrmmmm :p
This forum wont be going anywhere. I am not interested in selling (thanks for the offers already :p ).
So yes, I would like to believe the worst is behind us. The doors will always be open to those who want to participate.
I definitely left the same faceprints on the doors that you did with the lack of priveleges, I'm simply not used to that. I haven't been around since late '06, and it'* definitely weird to hear that something sparked an e-brawl. I do hope everyone/everything gets/got worked out and we can all get along again
My stance is, this place will remain open for people to return. There is a wealth of helpful knowledge here and there are many people who are still interested in seeing this site continue.
