I have a question im writing a paper from school and i have a header of my name course blah balh...and page numbers...i have 2 pages...i want that header to be on the first page...but i only want to see page numbers on the 2nd page
does anyone know how to do this...i tried different first page and it didnt work

You are on the right track.

First create a header with just the page number and format it the way you want.

Then go to "page setup" from the header/footer tool bar. Check the "different first page" box. It should come up with a new header box for you to format.

i got word 2002 and i tried that and it didnt work it took the header off the first page and left it on hte 2nd...i wanted it the other way around! i figured it out though used different even odd pages...and it worked!
