there aren't any step by step instructions for that kind of swap. It'* something you do when you KNOW how. You'll need the Engine, Trans, Wiring harness (complete from the engine, PCM, and dash) and the PCM. And I'm not sure the halfshafts could work with the suspension. The lengths may be different. Motor mounts might be custom.

You may have nothing 'off the shelf' to help you at all.

Engine swap books at a library? This is sort of like riding a bicycle. You won't find a book on it. You'll find books on basic mechanics, but this is a MAJOR undertaking. You need to be an accomplished mechanic with experience in swapping LIKE motors....REPLACING a 3.8 with a 3.8 for instance. Then you need a full understanding of the engines and controls. Both of the engines you're talking about. You also need alot of electrical and controls experience to make all the sensors work with the swapped wiring harness.....and on and on.

I've been working on cars for 25 years, and I wouldn't bother with that swap if I was GIVEN both cars. Could I do it? Probably. It'* not worth the grief, headache, and cost. The hidden costs will be more than twice the value of both cars combined.

I dont see why it would be so hard....... What hidden costs are you talking about i have both the engines and plenty of freetime on my hands spring break some partys but those are at night but i have all day to do nothing I'm 17 and dont have 1 red cent (until i get paid by my low paying job with low hrs) I have a car with a junk tranny and a awsome looking cutlass ciera with a junk engine btw this ciera is not like other cieras its the international series (sports edition) and this baby is loaded with power seats pw pl leather center shifter 4 speed auto tranny all gauges other cool luxury stuff and it would be so crappy if i had to junk it cause i paid $700 for it 3 1/2 months ago
