LOL....I don't even want to tell you what I paid in the late 60's for a gallon of gas. But I filled up my 67 Bug's entire 10.5 gallon tank for what I paid for a gallon of gas today.

BTW.....is it me or are there are lot less Hummers on the road today???

Merlin 91/97 08-31-2005 09:16 PM

........... it will cost me $92 Cdn to fill my car tomorrow..... :(
(and that's only 1 car.... remember I have two)

Damemorder 08-31-2005 09:50 PM

It cost me $20 to fill up the Geo today, And I know that will last me two weeks... Seriously guys, Get a cheap 4banger for running around town and just pimp your 6 on the weekends. I drove the Bonneville today and I felt like a King :D

Problem for me to do that since I drive so much for work. I had figured it out before that I was spending about 600$ a month on gas for my Malibu, and that was before any big price jumps, probably about a year ago.

I will have to sit down and figure out what I am spending now.

I wish I would have bought a Jetta TDI when I first started this job, lol. Oh to have a turbo diesel right now.

ssesc93 09-01-2005 11:26 AM

by next week it might be $4.00 a gallon. ouch. from empty, that will be 72.00 to fill up :x

I know I said this before... It was $1.09 per gallon when I bought my 95... I used to be all over the place... 200-300 miles in a day was easy and cheap... I don't drive that far anymore... I have driven the Bonnie only to work and back... I think I have driven 120 miles in 1 week...

Getting the Mitsu right again... AC is pretty cold for a 95F day, Just ordered the New O2 for it... 30mpg in town with the AC on here I come..

Yeah, I've been driving the New Beetle I "bought for my daughter". She just got her permit but doesn't really drive it yet(only practice for now). So, I'm enjoying the ride for now. I get about 30mpg on average which is only 15% better mileage than I was getting with the Olds. But at $3 plus per gallon TODAY, I'll take the savings.

You know, I'm not rich, and I do still want an L67 powered Bonnie... But um I have a car sitting here, that will freeze me out on a hot day( better than either of the Bonnies ) Burns little gas... It has done as much as 35mpg... Its a 5 speed( I like 5 speed when my left foot and anckle manages not to hurt me in a not so nice way )... Gotta love a 5 speed, I love going through the gears, and still being able to manage 30mpg<---- That alone is a lot of savings for me... I could drive this car to work for a month without putting gas in it... Not gonna happen with the bonnie..LMAO
