Default Max. Engine speed on kbb.com.........???

I always thought max engine speed was what the car red lines at my 88 cutlass 3.8 redlined at 5300 and the kbb max engine speed was 5300........now my car I just bought it says it has a max engine speed of 8000 rpms...........??? I dont have a tach but damn does that car really redline at 8000 rpms?

Horsepower 125 @ 5500 RPM
Torque 130 @ 4000 RPM
Max Eng. Speed 8000 RPM

FIrst, your links won't select the cars for you, so only one link to that page is neccesary.

Second, it looks like a typo to me. Why would they make redline so high, if max power is reached 2500 rpm before that?

Rev limiter at 4k mabey why my oldsmobile cutlass ciera blew the engine I would strait pipe it and rev it in neutral or park cause I loved how it made my car bounce up and down the reving was so fast you could make that car sound like it had a rev limiter while the car bounced hardcore it was so phat (I aint talking about alittle bounce I am talking like hardcore jumping up and down) engine went out on that tho at 149k threw a rod
