Default Getting Discounts at a GM Dealer

I dont know I've never tried until yesterday.

Basically I go in needing the fuel sending unit sensor, the lady at the counter says ok, that will be $43 plus tax. I say..um what about my discount? Shes like "oh ok, let me refigure this out"....few minutes later...."That will be 27.54 plus tax"

WTF?

I also called a while back to see what a set of mirrors would cost, they were about $500 a piece (yeah just for a mirror lol)...I asked if he could "come down" on the price and he said he could give them to me for $350.

Whats up with the GM Dealer'* pricing schemes? Are they trying to rip off the general public and only people that think they are entitled for discounts receive them?

I dont understand it. Perhaps I can get a REMAN transmission for $1300 instead of $2000

Next time you go the parts department say "does that price have my discount factored in?"

With my luck they'd ask me who I was and why I feel as though I should get a discount

My dealer discount is better than GMPD pricing, and I don't pay shipping. That includes parts not in stock that come from another dealer or the warehouse in Portland or Pheonix.

um, just go in and ask for "your" discount...or ask whats the lowest he can go on the part..pretend like you shop at the dealer a lot.
